Project Plowshare reports, 1960-1975.

Collection consists largely of reports and studies from various projects and experiments, with some memoranda, press releases, articles, clippings, and brochures. Also included are several letters to Kruger, 1963-70; Plowshare bibliography and chronology; a draft statute of the International Plowshare Organization, 1969; and a syllabus for Kruger's course on nuclear civil engineering, 1966.

Project Plowshare, which originated at the Lawrence Radiation Laboratory of the University of California, Livermore, in 1956, was concerned with the peaceful uses of nuclear explosions in excavations and other engineering projects. Paul Kruger, professor emeritus in the Department of Civil Engineering at Stanford University and a fellow of the American Nuclear Society, was involved in Plowshare research and teaching.
